UPDATE: May 17, 2024, after owning for one yearThis little lawn mower has been GREAT! Haven't had ANY problems with it so far.I only cut my grass every 2 weeks or so. The original trimmer string lasted all that time. I just bought replacement string off a web site (rhymes with hay) super cheap.While my string was out and I waited on a replacement, the front and back grass was getting TALL. Easily 8-10 inches, thick, like a small jungle. I should have taken pictures but it never crossed my mind. It was much taller than the pictures submitted in my original review.I did have to go over most parts 2-3 times, but this little mower did the job just fine, never bogged down in HEAVY grass, just chopped it right up, and kept going.Honestly people, for a small to medium yard, this thing does a great job!ORIGINAL REVIEW MAY 2023:Pros:- Easy assembly. Just had to connect shield to weed wacker, lock it in the base, and attach the trimmer/edger handle.- Light weight, can pick it up with one hand.- Compact, can be tucked into a small corner.- Did exceptionally well on my tall grass! Many sections were well over 6 inches. It took a couple times going over, but this little unit worked great and never bogged down! I kept the wheels at the lowest setting the entire time.- I didn't find it loud at all. Just a typical weed wacker. Definitely not as loud as a gas lawn mower.- Wheels adjust from about 1-2 inches high if you like your grass a little taller.- Handle telescopes out approximately 12 inches. If you are really tall this might not be adequate.- Briefly used the edger, the wheel was a big help, it did the job fine. Haven't tried the trimmer yet.- Great for a small to medium size yard, limited space for storage, people with arthritis, seniors, disabled, those who can't lift much weight, and want virtually maintenance free! Besides cleaning, you only need to replace the trimmer cord when it runs out.Cons:- Weed wacker locking mechanism into base is poorly designed. Mine popped out several times. It's not a constant problem, but annoying (like the IRS or DMV).- Power cord came out of the loop in the handle numerous times. A spring loaded clamp would be much better.- Would be nice to have a grass discharge port in the side.- Sucks having to rake grass afterwards.Other:- Some reviewers said it doesn't come with a power cord. My warehouse item said missing cord but I don't recall the box or description saying it is included. You will need an extension cord regardless. Any standard cord plugs into the 2 prong handle fine. This doesn't require an engineering degree folks.- I bought a warehouse return to save a little money. It was FILTHY! Previous owner did a bad job cleaning it. I've bought many warehouse items, but never had anything this dirty before. I did get a nice discount so I can't complain too much. Also didn't include owners manual. Maybe I can download a PDF from B&D? These are not product cons as none are B&D fault.

This is a must have for anyone who does their own flower bed and surrounding small areas too small for regular lawn mower. It works extremely well, does the job neatly, precisely and accurately Aesthetically it performed well beyond my expectations, and I am exuberant about its ability to uniformly, with detail accuracy, clear unwanted grass and overgrown shrubbery where I did not want it. I really enjoyed the product it is amazing it is lightweight, easy to maneuver, quickly and readily separates and reconnects. It easily and allows job to be done rapidly. It worked so well I just started walking around looking for other grass to cut nearby my flower beds that didn't require lawn scaping activity. Excellent product well done Black and Decker, well Done!

Easy to assemble, easy to operate on the 3 modes. I was particularly impressed about the easiness and quality of the edge trimming and for the creativity of converting a string trimmer into a string mower by simply snapping it into a mower support. It is very light and easy to handle. As a string mower, it can easily be handled with one hand and feels like you are vacuuming a carpet floor instead of mowing a lawn. As an edge trimmer, the small wheel assists in guiding the motion as well as keeping control of of the precision, requiring less efforts than a trimmer that does not have that assistant component. As a string trimmer is where I don't see this product much better than other options. It is very light and easy to handle, but so are others. To me, what makes this a great product is because it is really an effective 3-in-1 and very easy to maneuver on those 2 applications where a conventional string trimmer is not as good or as easy. I really like it.

I can't speak for everyone but for me this was the ticket.My only piece of advice - that I did not see mentioned on any videos etc (possibly cuz people think it's obvious) is - - when done for the day try to remember to clean both the mower-platform (especially the undercarriage) and also the trimmer areas. I've been using a small but stiff brush, which seems to work well. I did have some difficulty this morning - which is only the 4th time I've cut grass with it - with attaching the trimmer-part to the mower-base. It wouldn't *pop* in ... Eventually, I realized there was a lot of build-up and so I cleaned it out (unplugging first, of course) and then I was able to get it back on there OK.For me, so far my impression is that it cuts grass surprisingly good. The property has some tall grass, so all I do is use it as a weed-whacker, first, and then pop the mower-part back on and then cut it like a "mower" which really looks good. Today, I did try the lower level and there were a few places where I had to wrestly with it a bit, but - again - I was surprised how well it worked and how good the results looked.

I bought this product recently and absolutely love it. It's great for small gardens, super light weight, very easy to use, trimmers the lawn very well and does not take any space in my garage. I hang it on the wall along with the other garden tools. Highly recommend it.

Works pretty well, and it was very easy to put together. I like having the 3 in 1 feature, as it’s incredibly easy to switch from one to the other as you go. And, it’s lightweight.However, when cutting grass with the mower base, you have to empty the bottom for what gets stuck underneath every so often, because the weed cutter will pop out of the mower base, which is dangerous. I think the clip could have been designed better.But once I did start emptying it every once in a while (nothing too difficult, just lightly banged it on the grass a few times to dislodge the buildup every now and then), I had very few issues the next time I used it.

Buena máquina sólo inadecuado que la destrozadora se separa de su carro guia muy facilmente..La regulación de la altura de corte no permite bajar al raz del césped por lo que siempre queda alto (para mi gusto)..La función de orilladora es excelente.

I have only used it once so far but here is what I think.1) Super easy to assemble.2) Light weight and yes you do use more of a vacuum motion but it cut at a nice length, it's a great edger / weedwacker.So far I absolutely love it. It's perfect for my size yard.
